In January 1935, at the Teatro Cómico in Madrid, Eduardo Marquina premieres La Dorotea. Comedia en verso, en tres jornadas, inspirada en la famosa obra de Lope de Vega. Our products are safe (don't tell anyone!). Why don't supermarkets advertise their private food safety standards?

Large retail chains have spent considerable resources to promote production protocols and traceability across the supply chain, aiming at increasing food safety. Yet, the majority of consumers are unaware of these private food safety standards (PFSS) and retailers are not informing them. This behavior denotes a pooling paradox: supermarkets spend a large amount of money for food safety and yet they forget to inform consumers. The result is a pooling equilibrium where consumers cannot discriminate among high quality and low quality products and supermarkets give up the potential price premium. This paper provides an economic explanation for the paradox using a contract-theory model. We found that PFSS implementation may be rational even if consumers have no willingness to pay for safety, because the standard can be used as a tool to solve asymmetric information along the supply chain. Using the PFSS, supermarkets can achieve a separating equilibrium where opportunistic suppliers have no incentive to accept the contract. Even if consumers exhibit a limited (but strictly positive) willingness to pay for safety, advertising may be profit-reducing. If the expected price margin is high enough, supermarkets have incentive to supply both certified and uncertified products. In this case, we show that, if consumers perceive undifferentiated products as “reasonably safe”, supermarkets may maximize profits by pooling the goods and selling them as undifferentiated. A framework for audit quality: Critical analysis

Audit quality plays an essential role in maintaining an efficient market environment. External audits performed in accordance with high quality auditing standards provide a fundamental contribution in the implementation of accounting standards by reporting entities. This paper analyze the critical view of previous literature on audit quality and deeply examines the standard setters proposal on audit quality in order to verify if they created a coherent approach that could be used in the generation of a unique Audit quality framework. A specific focus is on the PCAOB and IAASB projects on audit quality that try to identify the purpose, characteristics, and indicators of the audit quality, setting off two different perspectives in the audit quality debate. At the end of the review and of the analysis, we deem that regulators and academic researches should consider also the pivotal role of the stakeholders to link the audit quality not only to input, process or output issues, but also to those audit quality drivers outside the direct control of audit firms

Rovine e macerie. Appunti su un topos nell’estetica letteraria del bando azul

Este trabajo pretende estudiar la circulación y actualización de un topos clásico, el de las ruinas, dentro de la producción literaria de poetas y autores del llamado bando nacional, es decir, de los sublevados. El análisis evidencia la compleja recepción ideológica de la historia, del arte y de la tradición literaria, así como el valor simbólico de lugares como El Alcázar de Toledo, El Escorial, Castilla o Roma, dejando patente, en los autores analizados, el influjo del vanguardismo iconoclasta, de la herencia noventayochesca y de la imitación de los clásicos.  Questo lavoro intende documentare la circolazione e attualizzazione di un topos classico, quello delle rovine, nella produzione letteraria di scrittori e poeti del cosiddetto bando nacional, cioè degli insorti durante la guerra civile spagnola e nell'immediato dopoguerra. L'analisi evidenzia la complessa ricezione e interpretazione ideologica della storia, dell'arte e della tradizione letterararia, nonché il valore simbolico di luoghi come l' Alcázar di Toledo, l'Escorial, Castilla o Roma, sottolineando, negli autori presi in esame, la presenza dell'iconoclastia delle avanguardie, della tradizione novantottina e della imitazione dei classici

Enterprise Risk Management e Cloud Computing

in risposta al crescente numero di organizzazioni che utilizzano il cloud computing come una valida alternativa per soddisfare le loro esigenze tecnologiche, il Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO) nel 2012 ha pubblicato un paper intitolato “Enterprise Risk Management for Cloud Computing”. Il documento fornisce indicazioni sui principi identificati dalCOSOper valutare e mitigare i rischi derivanti da cloud computing. Il COSO nel giugno 2016 ha pubblicato il documento “Enterprise Risk Management - Aligning Risk with Strategy and Performance”. La nuova versione è stata progettata per migliorare l’approccio aziendale ai rischi nuovi ed esistenti soprattutto in contesti in continua evoluzione per contribuire a creare, conservare, sostenere e realizzare il valore, in altre parole a migliorarne le performance. Una delle recenti evoluzioni è rappresentata dall’impiego daparte delle aziende del cloud computing e dei rischi e dei benefici a esso connessi ed è per questo che il presente lavoro si pone l’obiettivo di analizzare le best practice in tema di gestione del rischio applicato al cloud computing

Quando alla fine degli anni '60 la televisione si impone come mezzo di comunicazionedominante, automaticamente si assiste ad una diminuzione della lettura di libri da parte deigiovani. Con l'arrivo del computer nelle case e l'esplosione delle nuove tecnologie dicomunicazione, vediamo rinforzarsi questa tendenza in modo considerevole: l'unico tipo di'lettura cartacea' che continua a sopravvivere, con grande successo, è quella della letteraturafantastica. Quale è il segreto dell'interesse verso questo tipo di letteratura? Che ruolo occupanell'insegnamento scolastico?
